When seniors enter a cannabis dispensary they are met with a wide assortment of product offerings. From flower to pre-rolled joints to vapes to edibles to concentrates, the selection of cannabis in various form factors can be overwhelming particularly for individuals who are new to purchasing marijuana products from a dispensary.
Possibly the most difficult cannabis product to get comfortable with is concentrates, which can come in several versions.
These include:
- Wax
- Shatter
- Rosin
- Budder
- Bubble Hash
- Kief
- Distillate syringe
- And others
One of the challenges with concentrates is that they are intended to be “dabbed” which is likely a foreign concept to most seniors and older stoners. In order to dab, you will need to buy a special device that most seniors likely don’t own.
We’ll explain each of these types of concentrates in future posts, along with a handful of dabbing tool options. In the meantime, here are some points to keep in mind…
It’s possible to enjoy concentrates without a dabbing rig. For example, you could sprinkle many of these formulations of cannabis into a bowl or bong. It may work best if you combine the concentrate with some flower, so that it doesn’t get stuck to the side of the bowl.
Distillate syringes are typically used for ingesting. A common approach is pushing out an amount equal to a grain of rice to see how that impacts you. Indica distillate syringes can be very helpful for sleeping.
Like all forms of cannabis, start slowly with your dosages. Concentrates by design are very strong, so please take it easy.
