One of the many exciting aspects of today’s cannabis industry is the plethora of products that companies in the industry are developing and rolling into dispensaries. The ever-expanding range of options provides an opportunity to not only pick strains that appeal to you, but products that are unique and that have different onset times and purposes.
“Stacking” essentially means the concept of layering or combining more than one cannabis product / consumption method. This might include, for example, eating an edible, then using a vape pen or taking a dab. It could also be putting some THC honey into your mid-day tea while smoking a joint. It could also be smoking some indica flower while also ingesting a grain of rice (size amount) from a distillate syringe.
Edibles take longer to kick in than smoking does. Edibles also tend to last much longer (in your system) than smoking or vaping. With that in mind, a stacking strategy that begins with eating an edible, then smoking (or vaping) may be favorable for some seniors. The effect will last longer and you may end up vaping (or smoking) less, once the edible hits.
As with everything cannabis related, go very slowly at first when experimenting with stacking. Edibles have a delayed reaction, so take that into consideration and start with a smaller than normal dose. Hopefully you can arrive at a sweet spot that allows you to achieve the high and (or) pain relief or sleeping assistance that you are seeking, without overdoing it.
