The first and most critical point to keep in mind when cleaning your bong is DON”T drop it.
If it’s glass, then it will be time to replace and if it’s plastic, then you will still be left with a smelly clean-up job; particularly if there’s any bong water inside.
Cleaning a bong is not difficult if you have the proper supplies.
Here are the steps:
- Take apart your bong by removing any parts like a bowl or a stem.
- Rinse with hot water to help loosen and remove the nasty residue.
- Use a commercial bong cleaning solution, or a mix of isopropyl alcohol and salt. There are also several products on the market that are specifically designed to remove the sticky residue that remains.
- Cover the openings of the bong and shake it gently. If you’re not careful, water will fly everywhere.
- If your bong is particularly gross, you might need to let it soak for a few hours or even overnight.
- For the smaller parts like the bowl and stem, pipe cleaners or a small brush can be a helpful accessory to reach the debris hiding in the crevices.
- Rinse everything thoroughly with hot water. Be sure all the cleaning solution is gone.
- Let the bong and its parts dry nicely before you put it back together.
- Reassemble.
- Light it up!!!
Although cleaning your bong may be a time-consuming exercise that delays your next smoking session, I promise that you (and your body) will appreciate the nicer smoking experience that comes with a sparkling clean bong.
