One of the wonderful aspects of the growth of the marijuana industry is the proliferation of dispensaries serving both medical and adult use customers, including seniors (and older stoners). In the days before cannabis dispensaries, not only were product options limited, but most folks only knew a person or two who supplied them.
Today, in addition to all sorts of product offerings (cannabis strains and form factors), most cities / states (that allow dispensaries) have multiple different business operators to select from.
So, how does a senior (older stoner) decide where to shop?
I believe the answer initially is everywhere. Let me explain…
Most dispensaries offer special discounts to first and second time customers. Oftentimes, the discount on the second visit is greater than the first. Thus, from a “getting a deal” standpoint, it makes sense to visit each brand of dispensary twice to maximize the cost-effectiveness..
Although most dispensaries stock the most well-known strains, there are usually unique formulations that are specific to each dispensary. Unless you invest time exploring and asking questions, you may miss out on products that could be beneficial for you.
Different dispensaries have different vibes once you walk inside. It’s likely that some will be more comfortable for you than others. A big part of your initial impression will likely relate to how you are greeted, how long you have to wait and the knowledge level and patience of the budtender who works with you.
Cannabis is something that you buy and then (will likely) need to replenish. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to continue to experiment with different dispensaries as their product mix will change as well as the folks who work there.
Find individuals at dispensaries who are willing to take the time to try and understand what you are seeking to accomplish through the use of cannabis and you will likely be pleased with the results..
