Should You Pre-Order Cannabis From A Dispensary?

A question to consider when planning to make a purchase from a cannabis dispensary is whether to check out the inventory of the store that you are planning to visit online and potentially place an “order”, which isn’t actually finalized until you go into the dispensary to pick it up.

The upside of pre-ordering is that it will cut down on the amount of time you actually have to spend in the shop and there could be products out of stock if you wait until you walk in to figure out what you want.

For seniors who are new or newer to purchasing marijuana from a dispensary, it’s probably a good idea to spend some time reading through the items listed for sale on their website and then do some internet research on strains and products that interest you. Most sites have some user generated feedback about the products. Additionally, websites such as Leafly have fantastic information on all sorts of cannabis products, including some local inventories across all of your local dispensaries.

It’s perfectly acceptable to order in-person once you arrive at the dispensary, but be prepared for it to take longer, as pre-orders are often given priority over walk-ins.

Assuming you aren’t in a rush, and especially if you are new to cannabis, take advantage of the opportunity to speak with the folks behind the counter, known as budtenders and ask your questions. Keep in mind however that there are wide ranging of levels of knowledge of the individuals working at dispensaries. You may encounter someone who is highly knowledgeable or you may be speaking with someone who is new to the industry altogether and knows very little.
