THC Pumpkin Pie Recipe

You know the bloated and tired feeling that settles in by the time that Thanksgiving dessert finally gets served? That’s in part due to an amino acid called Tryptophan, which is present in turkey and can facilitate feeling tired.

So, instead of loading up on after dinner drinks or another beer or a run of the mill high calorie dessert, consider baking and serving (to any adults in the room that want to try it) a cannabis infused pumpkin pie.

The key, similar to most infused baked goods, is to start by incorporating THC into one of the ingredients, typically by decarbing your selected cannabis, then infusing your baked item with the infused butter, oil. etc.

Here’s a step-by-step recipe for making a delicious, infused pumpkin pie:

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold THC-infused butter (see infusion instructions below)
  • 4–6 tbsp ice-cold water

For the Filling

  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

Pie Instructions:

Make the Crust

Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the cold THC-infused butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough forms. Roll it out and place it in a pie dish, trimming the edges. Pre-bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.

Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Add eggs, then mix in evaporated milk until smooth.

Bake the Pie

Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust. Bake at 375°F for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool and Serve

Allow the pie to cool before serving. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Dosage Tips:

Always start with a small slice, as it can be challenging to estimate potency precisely. Adjust as you enjoy, but keep in mind that any thc that you eat will take longer to feel the effects (than smoking or vaping).
